A nationally recognized commercial construction management firm is seeking a Senior Estimator to support preconstruction and estimating efforts across complex commercial building projects. This organization delivers high-profile projects across multiple markets and is known for its collaborative culture, operational excellence, and innovation in construction delivery. Position Summary The Senior Estimator supports Lead Estimators and Preconstruction leadership throughout the preconstruction process. This role is responsible for value engineering, budget development, GMP preparation, constructability reviews, and ensuring complete, accurate estimates supported by current market pricing and subcontractor input.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Manage distribution and review of design documents for estimating and subcontractor bidding.
Coordinate subcontractor bid lists and ensure sufficient trade partner participation.
Perform quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and detailed trade estimates.
Prepare and evaluate subcontractor bid proposals; identify scope gaps and overlaps.
Lead or support GMP and Lump Sum bid preparation and submissions.
Develop value engineering options, alternates, and comparative studies.
Utilize BIM tools for quantity take-off and visualization where applicable.
Participate in internal estimate reviews and stakeholder meetings.
Coordinate operational input including General Conditions and site logistics.
Prepare variance reports and comparison analyses between milestone estimates.
Support Target Value Design initiatives and constructability reviews.
Train and mentor Estimators as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
 
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction, or related field.
Minimum 2+ years of estimating experience following project engineering, field supervision, or purchasing experience.
Strong knowledge of commercial construction materials, systems, and trade practices.
Ability to develop conceptual estimates with limited information.
Experience preparing and analyzing detailed estimating documents.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction estimating software.
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
 
Compensation & Work Environment:
Compensation will be determined based on experience, education, and market conditions. $95K - $140K+ Range, with additional Bonus and annual incentives. 
This position is salaried and not eligible for overtime. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, retirement contributions, and generous leave policies. This role requires regular presence at active construction sites. Candidates must be able to climb stairs and ladders, navigate active job sites, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Work environments may include exposure to noise, weather conditions, and active construction operations.
