Job description:
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Nursing Department to achieve program goals and outcomes.
- Collaborate in the preparation of the annual program budget; monitor expenditures, align spending with revenue, and analyze budget variances.
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the nursing curriculum and courses.
- Oversee all components of the BSN program to ensure high quality, regulatory compliance, and successful achievement of program outcomes.
- Recruit, retain, and maintain an adequate number of qualified full-time and part-time faculty.
- Provide effective supervision, mentorship, and professional development for faculty and staff.
- Lead faculty orientation, ongoing mentorship, and development initiatives.
- Oversee preparation for accreditation visits by programmatic accreditors and the Board of Nursing.
- Prepare and submit annual and interim reports required by accrediting bodies, professional associations, and the Board of Nursing.
- Facilitate a systematic program evaluation and review process, including assessment of:
- Curriculum
- Faculty
- Staff
- Students
- Resources
- Program Outcomes
- Communities of Interest
- Supervise the systematic collection, analysis, and use of data to evaluate and improve program outcomes.
- Represent the Nursing Program in college-wide meetings and committees.
- Collaborate with college leadership to achieve key institutional goals, including student retention, graduation rates, student satisfaction, and staff retention.
- Engage with stakeholders and communities of interest to gather feedback and strengthen program development.
- Promote positive communication and collaboration among faculty, staff, and college personnel.
- Oversee the recruitment, selection, and hiring of faculty in accordance with college policies.
- Demonstrate professional commitment through continuous development in teaching and learning, active participation in professional organizations, and service to the nursing community.
- Teach assigned course(s) within the Department of Nursing, in compliance with Board of Nursing regulations.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a current RN license in the state where the campus is located
- A masters or higher degree from an accredited college or University that includes course work in nursing, education or administration
- A minimum of two years of experience in an administrative position
- A minimum of two years of teaching experience in pre- or post-licensure nursing programs
- At least two years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care and/or equivalent experience as determined by the Board
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Excellent skills in oral and written communications
