A Project Manager is needed in Spartanburg, SC area to manage assigned projects, coordinate all interaction between the company U.S. departments and ensure the project proceeds on schedule and to the determined budget. Project manager will be the single point of contact between the company and the customer.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Accountable for all aspects of the project including; delivery, schedule, technical requirement, performance to budget, cash flow.

- Plan and monitor/control the project from the receipt of the order through installation at the customers site and serve as the key customer contact thru final acceptance.

- Communicate project progress to the customer at a minimum every two weeks in writing or as mutually decided with the customer.

- Track all contract changes and maintain a revision summary with respect to the sell price of associated scope changes.

- Ensure that the order received from the customer is compatible with the engineering specifications and pricing in the proposal.

- Develop and maintain the Project Book according to company standards throughout the lifetime of the project.

- Development and Responsibility for the project schedule for all project phases and milestones. Track and monitor schedules and initiate corrective actions through the department managers.

- Conduct an internal project Kick-Off meeting with the internal project team.

- Conduct a Kick-Off meeting with the customer.

- Conduct regular project meetings with both internal personnel and with the customer and record and distribute the minutes for these meetings.

- Coordinate getting material requisitions to purchasing and follow-up to ensure materials are ordered and expedited if necessary.

- Acts as primary customer contact for design, costing and machine related issues.

- Review the project schedule and budget with the General Manager on a weekly basis using the Project Health Card and with the project team on a regular basis.

- Inform the General Manager of any cost overruns (labor and material) and develop a corrective action plan to bring the costs back to budget.

- Prepare and present the monthly CTC (Cost to Complete) to company management.

- Monitor progress of the project during design, build and installation by reviewing the performance of the team members against the project schedule. Resolve conflicts through the department managers.

- Responsible for buy-off of major purchased equipment for the line.

- Responsible for getting project pre-acceptance at company.

- Coordinate travel plans for all installation personnel.

- Responsible for getting project final acceptance at the customer site.

- Ensure a written record of all customer communications is available for the project file.

- Ensure that all documentation on the job is shipped to the customer per the contract.

- Responsible for completion of a written project report one month after final acceptance of project.

- Review all left over material and determine if we will restock, sell as spares, or return to the vendor.

 


Education and Experience:

- BS degree in engineering or related field preferred or equivalent work experience.

- Five years experience working with multi-disciplined project teams preferred, preferably in an automation or systems integration environment.

- Experience in the assembly of special purpose machines, automation or robotics.

- An ability to work effectively with customers according to deadlines and under pressure-filled conditions is essential.

- Willingness to travel and to work on weekends / Holidays (as needed) up to 20% per year

- In addition, must be familiar with the use of MS Office products and SolidWorks or similar drawing package.
