Director Nursing Unit CVICU & Cardiac Stepdown* – Asheville, NC
Full-time days (Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm)
This Hospital is licensed for 815 beds and is the region’s only Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, Level III neonatal intensive care unit, and includes the only children’s hospital in western North Carolina. It is a Magnet® designated hospital for nursing excellence, an IBM Watson Health’s 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospital in the nation, and earned an “A” in patient safety from the Leapfrog Group.
Job Summary: Directs area operations, programs, and activities consistent with the Hospital's objectives and in alignment with the strategic plan. Elements may be accomplished by other leadership but the Director retains responsibility and accountability. The Director of Nursing promotes research and integrates evidence-based practice into clinical, operational and leadership processes. Clinical, human resource and financial data is integrated to support decision making. Responsible for the nursing practice model.
Required Education: Master's Degree in Nursing or BSN with MBA, MHA or other related healthcare degree. National Nursing Leadership Certification is required within one year of accepting the role or by a signed commitment letter.
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Nursing.
Required License/Certifications: RN and BLS. NC or multi-state license required.
Required Experience: Three years of progressive leadership. Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, Internet and Intranet software, e-mail.
Preferred Experience: Five years of progressive leadership experience.

Shift: primarily days with 24/7 accountability
# FTEs (MGR/DIR only) : 160+
Compensation: $120k - $140k (mid is $118,300). Up to 15% leadership performance incentive available.
*This position is eligible for a $20,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment to Mission Health. Sign-on bonus will be paid out in your first paycheck!
