About the Opportunity
A nationally recognized commercial construction management firm is seeking a Scheduling Manager to oversee project scheduling activities across large-scale, complex construction projects. Position Summary
The Scheduling Manager oversees scheduling functions for one or more major construction projects, leading scheduling engineers and project staff to develop, maintain, and monitor comprehensive CPM project schedules.
This role partners closely with operations, preconstruction, procurement, and project leadership to ensure proactive schedule management, risk mitigation, and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain full Critical Path Method (CPM) baseline schedules for large construction projects

Lead and supervise scheduling staff or consultants assigned to project scheduling functions

Monitor progress, perform monthly schedule updates with narratives, and generate look-ahead schedules

Collaborate with Preconstruction, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and VDC teams

Integrate BIM/4D modeling and logistics planning into project schedules

Apply Last Planner System (LPS) methodologies to project execution

Perform schedule audits and risk/gap analyses using diagnostic software tools

Develop cost- and resource-loaded schedules and conduct earned value analysis

Prepare schedule recovery and acceleration plans, including “What-If” scenarios

Support Business Development efforts with scheduling input for proposals and presentations

Provide training and mentorship on scheduling tools and best practices

Engage clients as a planning and scheduling subject matter expert

Maintain regional historical schedule data and production rate databases
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction, or related field

Minimum 8+ years of related construction scheduling experience

Experience on large-scale construction projects ($100M+)

Advanced proficiency with Oracle Primavera P6 or similar scheduling platforms

Experience using schedule diagnostic and comparison tools (e.g., Acumen Fuse or similar)

Strong understanding of contract documents, scopes of work, and construction sequencing

Knowledge of lean construction, continuous improvement methods, and scheduling risk management

Strong leadership, presentation, negotiation, and analytical skills

Ability to manage concurrent priorities and supervise scheduling personnel
Work Environment
This role requires regular presence at active construction sites and collaboration in office settings. Candidates must be able to navigate construction environments, including climbing stairs and ladders, walking active job sites, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.
Limited travel may be required.
